The gears start shifting when two childhood friends embark on a journey outside the small town. Sacred Stones, crucial for survival are slowly disappearing one by one. Cut to a few years in the future and the world is now plagued by monsters and is slowly decaying.
The game begins in a small town, where a freak accident causes a chain reaction of unfortunate events. Strategizing is of course necessary, but players won’t constantly need a guide for it and elements like progression and equipment setups have also been simplified. Magic and Machines draws inspiration from popular titles like Chrono Trigger, Golden Sun, and Octopath Traveler, but ensures that there are equal amounts of nostalgia for long-time fans of the genre and its mechanics are simple enough to understand for newbies.
